Software Engineer (C# & .NET)
Mid-Senior · Remote · Full-time
About the Role
We're looking for two Software Engineers to build and maintain the core domain services of a platform used in a regulated financial environment. The services are written in C# and .NET and run as an event-driven, service-based system on Kafka and AWS.
The work is about trust as much as features. You'll build systems that are auditable, resilient, and observable, deliver well-tested and maintainable code, and review your peers' code to keep one consistent engineering standard. Domain-Driven Design and hexagonal architecture are the shared language of the team.
You'll collaborate with Product, Data Engineering, DevOps, QA, and Regulatory teams to turn requirements into working software, and use AI tooling in your daily workflow to deliver efficiently without compromising quality. A high ownership mindset and accountability for delivery and reliability matter more than titles.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain core domain services using C# and .NET.
- Deliver high-quality, well-tested, maintainable code.
- Review peers' code and contribute to a strong, consistent engineering standard.

What We're Looking For
- Strong hands-on experience building services with C# and .NET.
- Solid experience working in event-driven, service-based systems (Kafka).
- Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design and hexagonal architecture.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals: clean code, automated testing, CI/CD, and observability.
- Hands-on experience with AWS.
- Active use of AI tooling (such as Copilot, Claude Code, or Codex), with opinions on best practices.
- Ability to translate regulatory or domain requirements into working code.
- A high ownership mindset and accountability for delivery and reliability.
- Nice to have: experience re-platforming or modernizing legacy systems.
- Nice to have: FinTech, RegTech, or financial services background.
What We Offer
- Remote-first: work from anywhere in Serbia. The Belgrade office is optional.
- You'll work alongside engineers with 5–15 years of experience. No babysitting, just craft.
- Top-of-market salary for Serbia, paid in EUR, reviewed annually and tied to your impact.
- €1,500/year learning budget for conferences, courses, and books.
- 25 days PTO, flexible hours, and a culture that respects your time outside work.
